Presently, the National Bank of Pakistan is the largest bank in Pakistan. The bank has been at the forefront of the banking industry in giving shape to the future of the banking industry in Pakistan. Currently, the bank has 1250 branches in Pakistan and 31 overseas branches/ offices in 18 countries including Bangladesh covering all the time zones. It opened its first branch in Dhaka in August 1994 with the aim of extending fully computerized banking service to the doorsteps of the people of the port city, Chittagong and commercial capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka.
