Union Bank PLC – A Brief History

Union Bank PLC was incorporated in Bangladesh on 07 March 2013 as a banking company under Companies Act 1994. The Bank is one of the new generation Shariah-based banks in the country, and its operations are different from other conventional Banks. It obtained permission from Bangladesh Bank on 10 March 2013 to commence its business. Presently, the Bank carries on banking activities under Islamic Shariah prevailing in the country. Union Bank aspires to achieve the goal of transforming into a socially committed, world-class, Shariah-based financial institution that is unlocking the covert potentials specially for the missing middle beyond the coverage of corporate banking services.
